Here’s what we’ve been up to:

Hannah had a birthday in September (she’s six now):

Joshua had a birthday in October (he’s four now):

Then, there were leaves, jumping in the leaves, visiting Roba’s farm, and the farm animals, the corn maze, the pumpkin patch, the big orange bouncy pillow, the duck pond, their fabulous playground, the kiddie kattle ride, and of course the wagon ride, picture montage here. (If it’s small after it loads in the new window, just click on it for bigger.)

There’s also a funny (well, we think it’s funny) video that Sarah and I made in the corn maze. Stay tuned for that tomorrow! And also some spinning. And knitting, yeah that too.

Oh, yeah, P.S. - some of the kiddos traipsing through the leaves are not mine! They belong to the neighbors!

So, we’ve been trying to get the house ready for sale and it’s taking longer than we planned. Hurting my lower back hasn’t helped. I hurt it a little over a week ago sealing the grout on the new bathroom floor (guess I twisted the wrong way), and it feels like it’s getting worse instead of better. Blah. Before the back injury, I was spinning up some rambouillet (that I purchased raw, then washed and combed). Here’s a photo:

Now that I’ve knit it up, I think I should have spun it keeping the colors separated.

Here’s the fine black shetland (chain plied). I should have photographed it on a lighter background. I don’t feel like photographing it again because I’ve got a lot of other things goin’ on. So it’ll have to do. When I knit it into something I will take a better photo - promise.

The girls and I went horseback riding.
I’m thinking we’re going to need a bigger yard
’cause now we all want horses.

Actually, we’ve been praying about selling this house
and buying a bigger piece of property for a while.

Now I’m sure of it. We need a small farm.
You know, for the horses
and the sheep
and maybe a cow
and lets not forget the chickens
and a very large vegetable garden of course
and blueberry bushes
and an apple tree.

I have big dreams.

…to get the hang of this spinning wheel! It’s a little different than spindling. I feel like I have more control when I’m spinning on a spindle as opposed to the wheel. I think after a few more ~~hours~~ days of practice I’ll have better control on the wheel.

These photos were taken with my new Casio EX-Z1080. I wanted a small point & shoot that I could keep in my purse (and therefore always have it with me) that took decent photos and good video clips. It has a sensor size of 1/1.75″ so the pictures are pretty good, and the video is UHQ @ 25fps, so pretty good video clips too (great when you have kids and want to catch those spontaneous cute moments at the park/library/store etc.) And, it’s not much bigger than a cell phone, so very portable!
